This is a subject dear to my heart, and I call myself an "authority" since I went through the same evaluation process and now own a 2015 335iX GT. I picked up my GT on September 2014 in Munich. Please see the discussion thread entitled "My test drive 335iX GT in Manhattan". I feel the GT to be the better vehicle hands down.
