Oooooooor just skyscale the whole way and beat the others. Don't get me wrong, it is somewhat slower, especially if you go directly straight up. But if you angle and climb at an angle, the speed picks up. And going down, so long as it isn't straight down, also nice. And the hovering. And map comp. And vista-getting.
No. This achievement only unlocks if you completed the "a new friend" achievement for the easier/SotO skyscale. It would at least be fair if the "A New Look" achievement were unlocked for everyone who owns a skyscale (old or new). As it is now, the owners of the old/PoF Skyscale are kind of penalized because if they want to do
When I eventually get my skyscale I'm going out Christmas tree griefing. It's very true though. Christmas trees are a far worse hazard than any skyscale. Christmas trees break my immersion, offend my eyes and generally cheapen the game.

Like with the roller beetle, the more you learn about the skyscale and griffon, and employ their skills in a refined mechanical way, and learn from experience, the better you'll get at it, and the more rewarded you'll be.
